Celta Vigo star John Guidetti slams Manchester United tactics

John Guidetti has never been a man to hold his tongue, with the Celta Vigo striker having recently stoked the flames ahead of his side’s Europa League semi-final first leg with Man United by claiming that ‘Manchester is blue’.
Having started up front for the La Liga side as they fell to a disappointing 1-0 home defeat (thanks to a Marcus Rashford stunner) last night, the Swedish striker has today pointed the finger at the tactics of Jose Mourinho’s men, claiming their performance following the game’s solitary goal left a lot to be desired.
According to The Telegraph, the former Celtic striker sniped:
‘After the goal, they wasted a lot of time. They didn’t play football. They are very intelligent like that. It was difficult for both teams, it was a very hard match and both teams defended well.’
‘In the second leg, they need to play football because their fans will demand it. Tonight they were not superior, we were close and it’s not impossible (for us to progress).’
Former blue
Guidetti’s comments relating to United must be taken with a pinch of salt, with the big Swede has been on the books of Manchester City between 2008 and 2015.
He has also become known for his rather controversial outbursts…
On a knife-edge

The second leg of the Europa League semi-final between the sides will take place at Old Trafford next Thursday 11th May, with the tie finely poised following youngster Rashford’s crucial strike.
